What it's about
In 2010, Japan's first manned space exploration rocket, the Lion, crashes into a city and causes a major disaster. Asumi Kamogawa loses her mother in the accident and later meets the ghost of the rocket's pilot, whom she calls Mr. Lion. Inspired rather than frightened by him, Asumi grows up determined to become an astronaut. She eventually enters Tokyo Space School, where she trains alongside classmates who carry their own ambitions, insecurities and family burdens while the memory of the Lion accident continues to shape her path toward space.
